Savanna Siesta - African Lions by African wildlife artist John Seerey-Lester available from Snow Goose Gallery.
"Lions are the most social members of the cat family. They spend most of their lives in groups called prides, which usually consist of four to twelve related females, their offspirng and one to six adult males. I saw this pride of twelve in the Amboseli region of southern Kenya on my first visit to East Africa. The vulnerable positions that some of the lions had struck fascinated me, and I mused at how their poses were reminiscent of the domestic cat. The complex intertwining of their bodies presented me with a challenge that I could not resist." - J. Seerey-Lester.
