Telluride, home to the legendary Pandora's Mine, is high in the mountains of southwestern Colorado. The old rail line is paralled today by a state highway which allows for the ascent from Ridgway by auto in a fraction of the time the old steam locomotives required to drag a train. Anyone who has ever ridden behind one of those wonderful machines will know what "getting there is half the fun" really means.

The aspens are just turning as this family prepares to drive the last few miles to a mountain ranch - if they can ever get that old Ford cranked up.
