"The snowshoe is aptly named for the very large feet and bushy fur on the bottom and sides of each toe. Thus he may skip across the crusted snow while the fox's small round feet break through. In his 'freeze' pose he is almost impossible to see, but he is nervously alert with his large, antenna-like ears, and his bulging eyes which can view almost his complete surroundings without moving." - R.
